DOOR TO DOOR
In order to adapt production systems to international markets and become competitive, industry has had to resolve the problem of land and the adaptation of building to a practical and intelligent purpose.
There is no little merit in not surrendering to the apparent problem and overcoming the obstacles in order to successfully create by transforming a limited space, sometimes between buildings o different characteristics so as to favor the individual. In search of the greatest profitability from the surroundings.
The impossibility of structuring businesses along horizontal lines has meant that walls of up to twelve floors in height have had to be built. Each floor houses one business. They are all independent of each other, but share their common space, tools, and communal work… while they tell stories with inexhaustible good humour. Lifts for people, goods-lifts for goods. They all go through the same door.
FACTORIES IN SIDEWALKS
Large and small, they are all there at street level. An objective is defined, to house a means of making a living. The old buildings are of a sort which is illsuited to adaptation to modern times. Hoists on the façades serve to lifts goods. A show for the passer-by. Cases and machines are raised and lowered. Their swinging volume and mass attract the attention of the pedestrian.
